Welcome to ACPID 2026
Pediatric infectious diseases remain a significant cause of morbidity and mortality among children worldwide, particularly in developing and densely populated regions across Asia. The rapid emergence of new infectious agents, the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance, and the unequal distribution of healthcare access continue to pose serious challenges to pediatric healthcare systems. These challenges encompass a wide spectrum, including Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPD), Sepsis conditions, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD), Emerging and Re-emerging diseases, One Health, communicable diseases after natural disasters, as well as the urgent need for stronger antimicrobial stewardship, diagnostic stewardship, and Infection Control measures. In response to these pressing issues, the Asian Congress of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (ACPID) serves as a vital platform for healthcare professionals, researchers, policy-makers, and stakeholders to come together and share the latest scientific knowledge, clinical advancements, and public health strategies related to pediatric infectious diseases.
In addition to these critical concerns, the role of nutrition has become increasingly recognized as a fundamental component in the management of pediatric infectious diseases. Adequate and timely nutritional support not only strengthens the immune response, but also improves clinical outcomes, shortens recovery time, and reduces the risk of complications in infected children. The management of certain infectious diseases with monoclonal antibodies, intravenous immunoglobulin, specific IV fluids, and adjunctive interventions can enhance the effectiveness of medical treatment and preventive measures. Therefore, integrating management is essential for achieving holistic.
Now entering its 12th edition, The Asian Congress of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (ACPID) 2026 will be held in Bandung, Indonesia, from August 14–16, 2026, hosted by the Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI) in collaboration with the Asian Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases (ASPID).
